From Livorno, he graduated in violin in 1985 at the Pietro Mascagni Music Institute in Livorno, playing violinist activities both in orchestral formations as a shoulder violin and as a soloist. In 2002 he began his career as a conductor, with a wide lyrical repertoire with particular reference to Pietro Mascagni and realism. His repertoire includes many works, including: Silvano, CD produced by KiccoMusic, Amica, Messa di Gloria, Cavalleria rusticana, Pinotta, L'Amico Fritz and the Piccolo Marat by Mascagni, Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, Carmen by Bizet, Rigoletto and La traviata by Verdi, Don Giovanni and Cosi fan tutti by Mozart, Britten's Little Chimney Sweep, Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore, Giordano's Andrea Chénier, Madama Butterfly, Tosca and Puccini's La Fanciulla del west. He has written two lyric parodies: Mimì and the Others and Bacchus, tobacco and opera represented in numerous Italian theaters and has composed libretto and part of the music of the pop opera Il Puss in Boots, published by Sillabe Editore and of Cenerentola - the opera pop. He is the author of the opera "Twelve years after" sequel to Cavalleria rusticana which debuted in Sicily in 2021 and this year at the Cluj theater. A film intended for cinemas is currently being made of the work. He also wrote "De relitti e delle quarantene", a comic opera entirely created with the participation of singers and musicians through the use of mobile phones, during the Lock-down. Since 2020 he is general manager of the Goldoni Theater in Livorno.

Belgian violinist of Russian heritage, Mr. Bouchkov is a sophisticated musician of impeccable aplomb and has carved an international career performing with leading orchestras and conductors across Europe.  He is one of the most multifaceted and unique artists of the new generation. His orchestral appearances include performances with the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev, the HR-Sinfonieorchester and Christoph Eschenbach, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Mariss Jansons, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and Philippe Jordan. He has also appeared with the NDR-Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, Hessische Rundfunk Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, the Orchestre National de Belgique, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI in Turin, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra among others, collaborating with conductors such as Stanislav Kochanovsky, Michael Sanderling, Andrey Boreyko, Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, Dmitry Liss, Christian Arming, Lionel Bringuier, Maxim Vengerov, James Judd, to name but a few.

As an active recitalist, Mr. Bouchkov has performed in many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls such as Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Dresden Frauenkirche, Concert Hall of St. Petersburg, Tonhalle Zürich, Munich’s Prinzregententheater, Paris’ Theatre de la Ville, Maison de Radio France, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin among several other venues. A fine chamber musician, he is a regular guest of the Verbier Festival in Switzerland.

The Teatro Goldoni Orchestra established in 2020 from the main reference staff of the opera and symphonic seasons of the Theater has, over time, assumed connotations of stability, refinement and search for sonorities.

It represents a national and international point of reference for its Symphony Season and its productions such as Sheherazade by Rismky Korsakov performed for the first time in Livorno in November 2022 or Tchaikovsky's Symphony VI repeated 90 years after the first Italian performance conducted by Pietro Mascagni.

The artistic specificities of the orchestra are to be found in the Mascagnano, Pucciniano and Verdian opera repertoire. He actively participates every year in the Mascagni Festival in Livorno, giving new life to works by the composer from Livorno par excellence.

The conductors and soloists with whom the orchestra has collaborated have appreciated its dynamism and availability.
