Eric Lederhandler
Recently appointed as Associate Principal Conductor at Teatro Goldoni Livorno, Eric Lederhandler is now developing his musical activities in Italy (Orchestra di San Remo , Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana , Orchestra Metropolitana di Bari , .....)
Eric Lederhandler made his debut with Orchestre Philarmonique Royal de Liège in January 2020.
First foreign conductor to be appointed as Music Director with a symphonic orchestra in China, Eric Lederhandler was recently appointed to this function at the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra (Nanking). He is nominated until March 2014. Eric Lederhandler was born in 1965 in Uccle, Belgium. After studying the piano at music school, he entered the Conservatoire of Brussels where he studied the harpsichord, chamber music and the complete study of composing and writing music. He also completed his choir conducting diploma. Eric Lederhandler attained the top level of the “Wiener Meisterkurse für Dirigenten” under the direction of Salvador Mas Conde. This allowed him to conduct at the “Grosser Sendesaal” of the “ORF Funkhaus” (Austrian National Broadcasting Corporation) in Vienna.
In 1992, he founded the chamber orchestra “Nuove Musiche”, where he is the conductor in Belgium and overseas.
He received valuable instruction from Frank Shipway and from Yuri Simonov and regularly collaborates with the opera house “la Monnaie”, the “Opéra Royal de Wallonie”, “The Flemish Opera”, the Russian Opera House of Kazan and the Chinese Opera House in Shanghai. He was the conductor of the “Opera Mobile” and is currently the conductor in the opera production house “Idée Fixe”.
Eric Lederhandler was nominated the first chosen guest conductor at the Vidin State Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria and he still collaborates with many orchestras: the Turkish Symphonic Orchestra from Adana, the Noord Nederlands Orchestra and the Limburg Symphonic Orchestra in Holland, the Sewanee Orchestra in the USA, the “Deutsche Kammerorchester” in Germany, the Liepaja Symphonic Orchestra in Lithuania, the “Czech Virtuosi” in the Czech Republic, the “Orchestre Régional de l’Ile de France”, the “Bell’Arte” Orchestra , the Philharmonic Orchestra in Monte-Carlo , the Orchestre National de Lorraine in Metz , the Oltenia Filarmonica in Craiova (Roumenia) , the Cairo Symphony Orchestra (Egypt) , the Central Philharmonic Orchestra, Beijing, the Beijing Symphonic Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphonic Orchestra, the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chinese National Symphony Orchestra. He is regularly invited as a guest at the Conservatoire in Sichuan, China, where he conducts the orchestra and where he gives master classes in conducting. These projects are supported by the Belgian French-Speaking Community.
In Belgium, he has conducted the “Ensemble Vocal” of the RTBF and the choirs of the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. He has collaborated as guest director with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Royal Conservatoire and the Belgian National Orchestra.
Fumiaki Miura

Born in Tokyo, Fumiaki Miura starts his musical education with Tsugio Tokunaga at his hometown Conservatory before moving to Vienna to carry on his studies with Pavel Vernikov and Julian Rachlin. Since aged 16, Fumiaki is mentored and guided by Pinchas Zukerman. In 2009 he was awarded First Prize at the prestigious Joseph Joachim Hannover International Violin Competition, being the youngest winner ever.
His 23/24 season is highlighted by solo performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, ADDA Sinfónica de Alicante, Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, and the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Turkey. In addition, he will continue his chamber music activity with his partner pianist Itamar Golan in Italy, as well as with Varvara and Jonathan Roozeman, making his debut at the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical in Madrid.
Miura has performed with orchestras including Los Angeles Philharmonic, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Wiener Kammerorchester, Prague Philharmonia, Mariinsky Theater, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, NAC Orchestra Ottawa, Orchestre de Chambre Lausanne, Warsaw Philharmonic, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokio Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, Japan Philarmonic, Orchestre Nationale du Capitole de Toulouse, BBC Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Düsseldorf Symphoniker, hr-Sinfonieorchester or Hong Kong Sinfonietta, among others. Fumiaki Miura plays under the baton of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Gustavo Dudamel, Pinchas Zukerman, Krzysztof Penderecki, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Kazushi Ono, Hannu Lintu, Jakub Hrůša, Vasily Petrenko, Josep Pons, Patrick Hahn, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Stéphane Denève, Kristjan Järvi, Tatsuya Shimono, Terry Fisher and Rafael Payaré.
Regular invitations to international music festivals include the Miyazaki International Music, Ravinia Festival, Julian Rachlin and Friends, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Musique de Menton, Gyeonggi Chamber Music Festivalnd Menuhin Festival Gstaad. Fumiaki has also performed at the Auditorium du Louvre and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Auditorio in Madrid, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Elbephiharmonie in Hamburg and at the Wigmore Hall in London.
Miura has collaborated with artists like Yuri Bashmet, Itamar Golan, Sunwook Kim, Mischa Maisky, Maria João Pires, Lawrence Power, Julian Rachlin, Torleif Thedéen, Nobuyuki Tsujii, Jonathan Roozeman, Varvara or Pinchas Zukerman.
His discography includes Prokofiev violin sonatas with the pianist Itamar Golan for Sony Japan, as well as Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky violin concertos with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Hannu Lintu released by Avex-Classics label.
Fumiaki Miura plays a 1704 Stradivarius named “ex Viotti” kindly loaned by the Munetsugu Foundation.

Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno
The Teatro Goldoni Orchestra established in 2020 from the main reference staff of the opera and symphonic seasons of the Theater has, over time, assumed connotations of stability, refinement and search for sonorities.
It represents a national and international point of reference for its Symphony Season and its productions such as Sheherazade by Rismky Korsakov performed for the first time in Livorno in November 2022 or Tchaikovsky's Symphony VI repeated 90 years after the first Italian performance conducted by Pietro Mascagni.
The artistic specificities of the orchestra are to be found in the Mascagnano, Pucciniano and Verdian opera repertoire. He actively participates every year in the Mascagni Festival in Livorno, giving new life to works by the composer from Livorno par excellence.
The conductors and soloists with whom the orchestra has collaborated have appreciated its dynamism and availability. The artists who have been able to appreciate it over time are: Anderson Dean, De Lorenzo Giancarlo, Fratta Gianna, Madaras Gergely, NG Wilson, Raskin Daniel, Smbatyan Sergey, Warner John, Blaumane Kristīna – Cellist, Brovtsyn Boris – Violinist, Cafaro Nicolò – Pianist, Chiacchiaretta Cesare – Bandoneonist, de Niese Danielle – Soprano, De Palma Dino – Violinist and Violist, Furia Fabio – Bandoneonist, Itamar Zorman – Violinist, Meloni Fabrizio – Clarinetist. The Principal Conductor of the Orchestra is Maestro Eric Lederhandler, the Associate Conductor is Gianluca J. Greco.
In 2022, the Orchestra performed 82 concerts, 60% of which at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, and the remainder at important theaters such as the Ariston Theater in Sanremo, the Teatro Sociale in Camogli, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and made co-productions with important symphonic institutions such as the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Abruzzese Symphony Orchestra, the Bari Symphony Orchestra and the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra. He took part in the staging of 6 operas and strengthened institutional connections through the EU-funded project “Accordi Musicali”.
The YOM 2022 Competition saw the participation of 287 young instrumentalists for scholarships of €10,000.
